ABOUT ME
My name is Anna Khatser. I am an associate professor from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. Now I am working at Zaporizhzhia National University. My main courses are ESL, Theory of language communication, and Rhetoric. Besides, I manage the group of young scientists. Our main spheres of interest are applied linguistics, IT in studying ESL, semantic analysis, discourse and cognitive aspects of the language. Within my scientific interests, now I am working on the computer program dealing with semantic analysis of English sentences and texts based on verbs structures and meaning.
In 2016 I completed the courses of trainers for Researcher Connect workshops conducted by the British Council, got the Researcher Connect Trainer’s Certificate and was selected as a co-trainer for delivering this course for Ukrainian young researchers. In total, there are only eight Ukrainian trainers who are permitted to work for the British Council. Researcher Connect offers a series of modules focused on the persuasive proposals, effective abstracts writing and presenting your projects with impact in English.
I am the author of more than 50 scientific works including participation in International and Ukrainian conferences. In 2010 I defended my dissertation Nominative, functional and communicative peculiarities of English banking terminology at Odesa I. Mechnykov National University. It deals with interpretation of EBT nominative potential, functional and communicative peculiarities – elucidation of term’s paradigmatic and syntagmatic characteristics, word-worming, lexical and semantic parameters, functioning algorithm, speech realization mechanisms, etc. Main structural and grammatical types of EBT, its lexical and semantic character that includes synonymy, polysemy and homonymy are described as well as means and methods of general literary vocabulary terminological accommodation. The work provides a system interpretation of EBT taking into account hierarchic and ideograph factors of its organization in the form of terminological (macro)field with four microfields. Scenarios of components’ functioning in microfields, their nucleus and peripheral zones are elaborated in the given work. Principles and regularity of EBT usage in three discourse genres (professional, academic and journalistic) in comparison with general science and literary vocabulary are also clarified.
In 2013 The Attestation Panel of Ukraine awarded me the scientific rank ‘dotsent’ (an associate professor).
In 2015 I got the bachelor’s degree with honor in “Computer networks and systems” in Zaporizhzhia Institute of Economics and Information Technologies. The theme of a diploma paper is Text’s analysis with the help of semantic analysis technologies.
